The fourth annual SNS Barbecue will be held at the Radisson SAS hotel on Friday June 27th 2008 at The Clarion Suite Hotel Ennis Road Limerick @ 6pm. There will also be a presentation of Certificates from the Regional Waste Mangement prior to the Barbeque. All member companies are invited to attend, but prior booking is required to confirm numbers, etc. There is no charge for this event which has proven to be a most enjoyable social networking event for the region's sub-supply companies. May 20th - Chinese Market Information Seminar for Precision Engineering Sector

Enterprise Ireland will host this seminar at the Radisson SAS Hotel in Athlone to provide information on the Chinese market prior to a MSV Trade Show in China later in the year. This seminar is targeted specifically at the Irish Precision Engineering sector. Our next Launch of the Meet the Buyer will be held on Thursday 17th January 2008 @ 12.30am at the Shannon Shamrock Hotel Bunratty. Our Meet the Buyers Event 2008 will be held on May 15th 2008 in the Radisson SAS Hotel, Limerick. This practical course enables small to medium size companies to effectively manage Innovation, Research, Design and Development in their own company. The training programme will introduce companies to the key elements of Innovation and R&D management and provide them with the skills and the tools necessary to generate new ideas and products for further strategic growth. Participation in this course will help rduce the risk of failure in all aspects of new product and service development. Parrticipation fees for eligible companies on this training course will be funded by Enterprise Ireland / Shannon Development at a rate of 70% for SME's and 50% for non-SME's, subject to terms and conditions.

The Study Visit will took place from Saturday 5th November 2005 to Sunday 13th November 2005 inclusive. The trip took in the 2005 SubCon China Exhibition in Chongqing and the Procurement Fair in Shenzhen as well as company visits in the Shenzhen, Chongqing and Hong Kong areas. September 22nd - IBEC Health & Safety Seminar

The new Safety Health and Welfare at Work Act came into force on September 1st 2005 with certain provisions commencing some time later. IBEC’s Health and Safety Unit has organised a regional event focusing on the practical workplace implications of the legislation. Rather than provide a dissertation on the law, the seminar will focus on the key issues and address them in outlining possible and useful approaches to making practical, cost effective, relevant and safety positive arrangements which additionally meet the objectives of the new legislative arena. The seminar will take place in the Castletroy Park Hotel, Limerick on Thu Sep 22nd. IBEC Mid-West also have upcoming breakfast briefings on the Employees (Provision of Information and Consultation) Bill 2005 in Tralee on Sep 23rd and Bunratty on Sep 26th. Shannon Development is planning a workshop on the key aspects of exporting to the UK which is part of the “First Flight” exporters programme. First Flight has been designed to assist companies that are either interested in exporting for the first time or those companies that are relatively new to exporting. The aim of the First Flight process is to enable you save “time, expense, and to help you to manage the risk”. September 21st - RWMO Event at ESB Ardnacrusha

As part of the Regional Waste Management Offices regional Business to Business (B2B) Green Mentor Programme for Waste Prevention, ESB are hosting a Green Mentor Event at Ardnacrusha Power Station on the morning of Wednesday 21st September. This event is linked to the theme of energy efficiency as well as waste prevention, to mark Energy Awareness Week (18th to 24th September). ESB's Green Mentor Event will commence on the 21st at 9.45, and will comprise a tour of Ardnacrusha Power Plant, followed by talks on energy efficiency and waste prevention, and is expected to finish at about 12.30. The group, which is led by ShannonSoft, are having a number of meetings in the region over the coming weeks to determine the interest among companies in Kerry, Limerick, Clare and Galway. Supply Network Shannon members could benefit greatly by taking part in the Skillnet and are welcome to attend these kick-off meetings in Tralee on June 21st and Ennis on June 22nd.
