December 21st 2005

During a short visit to the Shannon Region on December 21st 2005 His Excellency Mr. Zhang Xinsen, the new Ambassador of the Peoples Republic of China to Ireland was briefed on the activities of Supply Network Shannon.

This briefing was arranged by Shannon Development and the presentation covered some background information on SNS, reported on the recent trade mission to China and outlined the experiences of Advanced Innovations in setting up an operation in China.

SNS also opened discussions with the Chinese embassy on developing business opportunities for the Shannon Region. SNS proposed the establishment of a China/Shannon Forum to explore and manage these opportunities in a co-ordinated way with the involvement of businesses, colleges and agencies in the Shannon Region and similar organisations in China.

During the Ambassador's visit to the Region he was briefed by Shannon Development and also met with a number of companies doing business with China from the Shannon Free Zone. He later toured Bunratty Castle and Folk Park.
