Centre Profile

 

Based at the University of Limerick the ERC is committed to conducting leading edge research on the challenges facing current and next generation enterprises. Academics associated with the centre have considerable research and practical experience in: 

 

·          Enterprise Optimisation: modelling, scheduling and resource management

·          Integrated Systems Analysis: design and implementation

·          Product Innovation, and Project management

·          Quality, Reliability and Productivity Improvement Tools

 

The ERC directs the Test and Reliability Strand of the Science Foundation Ireland (SFI) C-SET led by Bell Labs.

 

Through its strong links to Industry, further ERC capabilities include:

·          Business and Process Improvement Methodologies

·          Web Enabled Applications

·          Simulation and e-learning tools focused on Lean

·          Six Sigma and other Industry led Initiatives

 

Selected programmes and projects at the ERC include:

·          CO-DESNET – EU 6th Framework – Virtual Collaborative Tools

·          SIMCT – Enterprise Ireland’s Comm. Fund  - Simulation Based Costing and Analysis Tools

·          The Programme for University Industry Interface (PUII) – Next Generation Employability

·          The Open Distance Leaning Master’s in Technology Management

·          The Champions of Innovation Programme on behalf of Enterprise Ireland

·          Lean Tools – Collaborative development of Lean Tools in high technology sector. Partners include: Dell, IBM, Honeywell, Bausch & Lomb

·          LeanXeur: - Leonardo Da Vinci Project - Lean Across Europe for SMEs

 

Academics associated with the ERC also direct the Masters in Manufacturing, the Grad Dip/M.Sc. in Quality Management and the Diploma in Lean and Six Sigma.
